Chris R. graduated with a B.A. in English from Stanford University, where he competed on the varsity football and track & field teams. He is also earning an M.A. from Middlebury’s Bread Loaf School of English. A highly sought after academic executive with twelve years of experience, Chris has built a elite team which helps many students achieve their academic goals, gain acceptance to top colleges and universities, and understand who they are in the context of a changing world. His own intellectual and creative work includes theater, film, and Shakespeare. Chris is the proud founder of Wallace Tutors.
Matthew G.
College Applications Lead
Matthew G. is a tutor and professional actor living in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating as valedictorian from the Canterbury School in New Milford, CT, he earned a BA at the University of Notre Dame, spending a year abroad in France and graduating with a degree in Film, Television, and Theatre. He was later awarded an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and has lived and worked in New York City for twelve years with his dog, Spectre. In addition to tutoring Academic Writing in most collegiate subjects, Matthew's primary focus is guiding high schoolers through their college application process, with a special emphasis on crafting singular, artful essays and presenting a complete, undeniable argument for each applicant, however ambitious their reach.
ALANA M.
Alana M. graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a B.S. in Bioengineering with honors and distinction. She enjoys working with students to create an individualized and low-stress environment that enables moving beyond surface level comprehension to understanding fundamental concepts. She hopes to instill in students the confidence in their ability to learn anything. Alana has many years of experience tutoring in biology, math, chemistry, English, scientific writing, and public speaking. For fun, Alana likes arts and crafts, rock climbing, and baking. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in medical engineering at MIT.
BailEY V.
Bailey V. graduated from Boston University with honors where she received a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. In addition to tutoring, Bailey works at Harvard University doing prostate cancer epidemiology research. She also holds a B.S. in Biology and Spanish from Gordon College, where she played on the lacrosse team and worked as a teaching assistant for both Organic Chemistry and Genetics. Bailey currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts and specializes in biology, Spanish, genetics, and biostatistics.
BLAKE R.
Blake R. graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from Wake Forest University, majoring in English and Spanish and minoring in Film Studies. He specializes in tutoring college and high school level English, Spanish, Creative Writing, standardized test prep, and college essays and applications. He is a produced screenwriter who loves a good story, and in his free time you can find him at the library, the movies, or the local pickleball court.
Helen K.
Helen K. is an honors graduate of Wake Forest University and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. At Wake, she earned her BA in health and human services and sociology. At Berklee College of Music she received her MFA in performance. In addition to Wallace Tutors, Helen is an ESL teacher and has ten years of experience working with children and teens who have learning differences and special needs. She is passionate about bringing out the best in her students and helping them achieve their academic goals. Helen is a wilderness expert, avid home cook, professional songwriter, lyricist, and actor.
JIVAHN M.
Jivahn M. graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University, majoring in Economics and minoring in Finance, Engineering & Management Systems, and Sustainable Energy. He obtained a master's degree at Imperial College Business School in London. Having grown up in Paris, his 6 years of tutoring and teaching experience spans 7 countries—USA, UK, France, Italy, India, China, and New Zealand. He specializes in tutoring college and high school level math, economics, accounting, and SAT/ACT, and has also worked with students in high school level physics, chemistry, biology, Python, and public speaking. In his spare time, he enjoys summiting the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains and cooking crepes and Indian food for his friends.
KATHRYN A.
Kathryn A. has nearly a decade of admissions experience advising prospective students and reviewing applications. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame where she majored in History and Pre-Professional Sciences. Following graduation, she worked in Undergraduate Admissions for the University of Notre Dame, reviewing thousands of first year and transfer applications each year. She went on to get a M.Ed. in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard's Graduate School of Education, where she did research on the college admissions process. She also has experience working in admissions for the University of Notre Dame Law School and the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management MBA programs. Kathryn enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors.
Lucie F.
Lucie F. holds a B.A. in English Literature from Stanford University. In addition to working for the wonderful Wallace Tutors, Lucie is an associate and writing specialist at Allison Baer Educational Consulting and an essay coach at Spark Prep. During her time at Stanford University, she was hired as a Peer Advisor for the Department of English, assisting students with their writing as well as undergraduate coursework planning and strategy. During her junior year, Lucie studied at Oxford University where she completed an intensive tutorial and authored a 100-page research analysis of modern British literature. Lucie is also a licensed real estate salesperson, a freelance writer, and a professional actress.
LUKE G.
Luke G. is a current PhD candidate in philosophy at UT Austin. Born in New York City, Luke attended The Dalton School followed by Sarah Lawrence College where he concentrated in philosophy and music composition. After graduation, he spent three semesters at Brandeis University where he received an MA in philosophy.
Luke has helped a wide range of students achieve success in middle/high school and college humanities curriculum, college applications, and standardized test preparation. Many of his high school students have gone on to attend Ivy League and top tier universities/liberal arts colleges. Luke sees his mission as making a tangible impact on a student’s academic success while also trying to impart practical skills and a passion for learning and thinking that will stay with the student long after the end of their formal working relationship.
Mario C.
Mario C. graduated from Stanford University in 2017 with a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. He has experience tutoring since he was in high school – he specializes in math, physics, chemistry, and biology. He has also taught piano and violin, and SAT prep. While working as a software engineer at a startup in Brooklyn, Mario also spends his free time playing and recording music, and exploring the city with his friends.
MARJAN F.
Marjan F. is a PhD candidate in Economics at the New School for Social Research and a professor at St John's University. She has extensive experience teaching and tutoring math, statistics, and economics in different capacities at college and graduate levels and is known for her passionate and engaging approach to education. In 2019, Marjan received the New School for Social Research Graduate Student Teaching Award. Her students have repeatedly mentioned how her attitude toward math has changed their view of the subject. One student wrote in her evaluation: "I was nervous about the course, but Marjan not only assuaged my concerns, but she made me ENJOY math! Her enthusiasm was contagious." Outside academia, she enjoys poetry, cats, coffee, and exploring new places.
Mary Glen F.
Mary Glen F. graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, where she earned her BA in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, and studied abroad at Oxford and the University of Cape Town. She recently graduated with an MFA in Acting from UC San Diego (where she received a teaching award for Outstanding Contribution to Undergraduate Instruction). She has taught language and literacy in preschools, Shakespeare workshops in high schools, and Acting and Public Speaking courses to undergraduate students. As a tutor, she specializes in English, Writing, and Public Speaking. When not working as an actor and video editor in New York City, she loves kickboxing and being in nature.
NICK C.
Nick C. attended Choate Rosemary Hall before graduating from Columbia University in 2008 with a B.S. in Applied Physics and a minor in Philosophy. After starting his career as an investment banking analyst with Citigroup Global Markets, he won a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship in 2012 and has been a full-time high school physics teacher ever since. As a tutor, he specializes in physics, mathematics, and SAT preparation. When he is not sharing his passion for physics and math, he enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking in New England and the Appalachian Mountains.
Nikki K.
Nikki K. is a passionate student of science and art. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Irvine with a BS in Biological Sciences and holds an MFA in Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. Nikki began tutoring during her time at UCI, where she tutored underclassmen in a range of biology courses, as well as captained the school’s competitive Ultimate Frisbee team. Osman C. graduated from Boston University in 2017 with a PhD in Applied Mathematics. He is an active researcher in the field of Dynamical Systems. His tutoring specialty is in mathematics, with over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring topics ranging from pre-algebra to multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and beyond. He also has experience preparing students for standardized testing, including SAT, SSAT, ISEE, SHSAT, PARCC, and more. When he is not tutoring or doing research, he volunteers his quantitative skills doing predictive data analysis for local political campaigns. For fun, he enjoys exploring the city on his bike, listening to music, and crafting specialty coffee.

Paul C. graduated from Brown University magna cum laude with degrees in Biology and Public Policy, and earned an M.F.A. in Acting at the Yale School of Drama. Over the past few years, Paul has tutored students in biology, organic chemistry, and writing, and taught MCAT classes through Kaplan. Paul currently tutors students in biology, chemistry, math, and all sections of the ISEE, SSAT, SAT and ACT.
RYAN B.
Ryan B is a current Ph.D student in philosophy at UT Austin. He graduated from Princeton University cum laude in 2019 and started at UTA after a gap year. He’s now been tutoring for more than five years and in that time has tutored more than 150 students, accumulating more than two thousand hours of tutoring experience. His specialities run the gamut—he has experience in the APs, IBs, LSAT, SAT, ACT, and undergraduate level courses, including philosophy, business, and logic. His favorite subjects are generally history, economics, government, or some combination, but is generally able to do anything.

Sarah C graduated from Brown University with an honors degree in Applied Math - Economics. After college, Sarah spent several years at the Federal Reserve Board doing research alongside economists. Since then she has worked at Lyft as a data journalist. Sarah’s tutoring expertise is in economics, statistics, data science, and programming languages such as R and Stata. In her free time, she likes to play volleyball, read autofiction, and have her friends over for dinner.
